What We Believe

Our church affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our official statement of faith.

Below is a clear summary of the 18 articles:

The Scriptures

The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word and the final authority for what we believe and how we live.

God

There is one true and living God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each fully and equally God.

Man

God created humans in His image. Though made for fellowship with God, all have sinned and are in need of salvation.

Salvation

Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.

God’s Purpose of Grace

God saves and keeps those who trust in Christ. True believers endure in faith and are secure in God’s grace.

The Church

A New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers who join together to worship, serve, and spread the gospel.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are symbolic acts of obedience and remembrance, instituted by Christ.

The Lord’s Day

The first day of the week is the Lord’s Day. It is a day for worship and spiritual devotion, in honor of Christ’s resurrection.

The Kingdom

God’s Kingdom is His sovereign rule over all. It is present in the hearts of believers and will be fully realized when Christ returns.

Last Things

Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly. God will judge all people; the saved will dwell forever with Him.

Evangelism and Missions

Every believer and every church is commanded by Christ to share the gospel and make disciples of all nations.

Education

Christian education is essential for spiritual growth and making disciples. It begins in the home and extends through the church and institutions.

Stewardship

God is the source of all blessings. We are to use our time, talents, and resources faithfully for His glory.

Cooperation

Churches should voluntarily cooperate with one another in kingdom work while remaining autonomous and Christ-led.

The Christian and the Social Order

Christians are called to seek justice, show compassion, and uphold righteousness in society, guided by Scripture.

Peace and War

Christians should seek peace, but sometimes war is necessary to uphold justice. Our ultimate hope is in Christ's peace.

Religious Liberty

Every person has the right to follow their conscience in matters of faith. Church and state should remain separate.

The Family

God designed marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The family is the foundation of society and a place for spiritual nurture.
